The mill behind every bag.
Modern machinery, run by a family that knows the grain. Here is how paddy becomes the rice our customers buy.
From paddy to rice, step by step.
The stages every grain passes through. The machinery does the work; experience decides how each variety is milled.
- 1
Cleaning
Paddy is cleaned of dust, straw, stones and anything else that came in from the field before it goes near the mill.
- 2
Soaking & steaming
For boiled rice, the paddy is soaked and steamed before milling — this is what gives boiled rice its firmer grain.
- 3
Drying
Paddy is dried to the right moisture so the grain mills cleanly instead of cracking.
- 4
Husking
The husk is removed, leaving the brown rice grain inside.
- 5
Grading & sorting
Broken and off-colour grains are separated so every bag holds the same quality.
- 6
Whitening & polishing
The bran layer is taken off and the grain polished. This is where our own process matters most — it is set for each variety to bring out its taste and texture.
